WNBA: The Sky and Mercury advanced in the playoffs with upsets of the Lynx and Storm, respectively. The best-of-five semifinals begin Tuesday with the top-seeded Sun taking on the Sky and the No. 2 Aces hosting the Mercury. Storm legend Sue Bird, who turns 41 next month, announced that she’s considering retirement.

NBA: Zion Williamson, who suffered a broken right foot over the summer and underwent surgery, should be available for the regular season.

MLB: The Cardinals completed a four-game sweep of the Cubs at Wrigley Field to extend their franchise-record win streak to 16.

NFL: The Panthers acquired CB CJ Henderson and a fifth-round pick from the Jaguars for tight end Dan Arnold and a third-round pick. The Panthers’ 2021 first-round pick, cornerback Jaycee Horn, is out with multiple broken bones in his right foot.
