NHL: The Wild defeated the Jets 6-5 in overtime Tuesday to record their first 3-0 start since 2015. They’ve won all three games by one goal.

NBA: The Pelicans signed center Jonas Valanciunas to a two-year, $30.1 million extension. Valanciunas was traded to New Orleans in August and is playing on a $14 million salary this season.

EPL: Newcastle United and manager Steve Bruce mutually agreed to part ways Wednesday. Frank Lampard and Paulo Fonseca are reportedly the frontrunners for the position.
