The Draft

Another year, another Nick Saban appearance in a national title game. Alabama has now made six of the eight College Football Playoff championships and face Georgia — who they beat in the SEC title game a month ago.

Making Headlines

NBA: The Lakers are close to a three-team trade that will send Denzel Valentine to the Knicks and Rajon Rondo to the Cavaliers, per Shams Charania. Also: The Nets expect Kyrie Irving to play for the first time this season in Wednesday’s game against Indiana.

NCAAM: Baylor and Duke remained Nos. 1 and 2 in the latest AP Top 25 poll; Purdue, Gonzaga, and UCLA rounded out the Top 5.
