The Draft

As if MLB, NHL, NBA, and Euro 2020 didn’t have our attention, it’s U.S. Open week. Let’s do this.

Making Headlines

Euro 2020: Patrik Schick scored twice — including a goal from 50 yards out — to lift the Czech Republic over Scotland, 2-0. Other winners were England, Austria, and the Netherlands.

NBA: Chris Paul (37 points) and Devin Booker (34) helped the Suns top the Nuggets 125-118 and advance to the Western Conference finals in a sweep. Also: The Bucks evened their series with the Nets with a 107-96 win in Game 4.

MLB: The Blue Jays belted eight home runs — two by Teoscar Hernandez — in an 18-4 trouncing of the Red Sox at Fenway Park.

What We’re Watching

Jazz at Clippers

Watch: 10 p.m. ET, TNT

Odds: Clippers -5 || O/U 224

Pick: With Jazz star Donovan Mitchell hobbling with an ankle injury, Sports Section likes Kawhi Leonard and Paul George to lead Los Angeles to the win and tie the series. Lay the points and take the over.

Who ya got? Reply to this newsletter with your prediction of the Jazz-Clippers winner, the final score, and the combined points for Leonard and George. Nail it, and you get a mention in the next edition of Sports Section. Don’t forget to include your Twitter handle.

Shoutout to subscriber Tim Maher (@glenayrfarm), who correctly predicted the 76ers would defeat the Hawks on Friday and came closest to the final score (127-111) and the combined points for Atlanta’s Trae Young and Philly’s Joel Embiid (55). Nice going, Tim!

Keep the picks coming, everyone!
