The Draft

POWERED BY

There is no truth to the rumor that we shimmied while producing this winning newsletter, but we like Trae Young’s style.

Making Headlines

Euro 2020: Cristiano Ronaldo scored two goals in Portugal’s 2-2 draw with France to equal the all-time international goal-scoring record of 109. The 36-year-old can surpass the mark he shares with Iran’s Ali Daei when Portugal faces Belgium on Sunday.

NBA: Trae Young had 48 points, 11 assists, and seven rebounds to lift the Hawks to a 116-113 victory over the Bucks in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference finals. Also: Rick Carlisle agreed to a four-year, $29 million contract as head coach of the Pacers, according to ESPN. The Celtics hired Brooklyn Nets assistant Ime Udoka as head coach, according to multiple reports.

NHL: The Seattle Kraken hired former Flyers coach Dave Hakstol as the first head coach in franchise history. The team will debut in the 2021-22 season.

What We're Watching

Suns at Clippers

Watch: 9 p.m. ET, ESPN

Odds: Suns -1 || O/U 221.5*

Pick: While Kawhi Leonard remains sidelined with a knee injury for the Clippers, Chris Paul is listed as probable to return for the Suns. Paul missed the first two games while in the NBA’s health and safety protocols after testing positive for COVID.

Sports Section likes the Suns to take a 3-0 series lead, so lay the point and parlay it with the under.

Who ya got? Reply to this newsletter with your prediction of the Suns-Clippers winner, the final score, and the leading scorer in the game. Nail it, and you get a mention in the next edition of Sports Section. Don’t forget to include your Twitter handle.

No shoutout today, as no subscriber predicted the Hawks would defeat the Bucks.

Keep the picks coming, everyone!
