The Draft

Making Headlines

NBA: The Nets announced that Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant have tested out of health and safety protocols. Irving could suit up for the first time this season in 1-2 weeks, per head coach Steve Nash.

NFL: 49ers QB Jimmy Garoppolo suffered a torn ligament and fractured bone in his right thumb during Thursday’s loss to the Titans. Trey Lance will likely start against the Texans if Garoppolo cannot go.

NCAAF: Central Michigan will face Washington State in the Sun Bowl after Miami was forced to pull out due to COVID complications. The Arizona Bowl — where CMU was originally scheduled to face Boise State — has been cancelled.

MLB: Shohei Ohtani was named AP’s Male Athlete of the Year.
