The Draft

Making Headlines

College football: In the first AP Top 25 poll of the season, Clemson fell to No. 6 — the Tigers’ first time out of the Top 4 since 2017; Oklahoma dropped to No. 4, while Georgia and Ohio State improved to Nos. 2 and 3, respectively.

NFL: The Texans officially named Tyrod Taylor as starting quarterback for Week 1 against the Jaguars. Rookie Davis Mills will serve as backup, while Deshaun Watson isn’t expected to be active. Taylor signed a one-year, $12.5 million deal with Houston in March.

Hockey: The NWHL will be renamed the Premier Hockey Federation beginning this season.
