The Draft

POWERED BY

Saturday is the 147th running of the Kentucky Derby. In our latest “Friday Conversation,” we discuss The Run for the Roses with an NBC analyst and handicapper who also knows a little something about hockey.

Making Headlines

NBA: Kevin Porter Jr., 20, became the youngest player in league history to score 50 points and dish out 10-plus assists during the Rockets’ 143-136 victory over the Bucks.

NFL: Packers GM Brian Gutekunst told reporters, “We’re not going to trade Aaron Rodgers.”

NHL: The Capitals and Penguins each clinched postseason berths. Also: The Seattle Kraken completed the acquisition of the team and officially joined the league.

MLB: The Brewers placed righthander Corbin Burnes on the injured list for an unspecified reason.

Tonight’s Action

Indians at White Sox, 8:10 ET

Odds: Indians -137, White Sox +118 || O/U 6.5

Pick: Righthander Shane Bieber (2-2, 2.48 ERA) will start for the Indians against White Sox lefthander Dallas Keuchel (1-0, 4.32 ERA).

While Bieber is off to a strong start, Chicago’s bats have come alive. Sports Section likes Chicago on the moneyline and the over.

Who ya got? Reply to this newsletter with your prediction of the Indians-White Sox winner, the final score, and the player who hits the first home run of the game — if any. Nail it, and you get a mention in the next edition of Sports Section. Don’t forget to include your Twitter handle.

Shoutout: Yesterday, we asked subscribers to predict the No. 3 pick in the NFL Draft. North Dakota State quarterback Trey Lance was selected third by the 49ers.

Subscribers who had Lance at No. 3 include Chezky Krasner (@calvinridley4) and Jason Dumont (@jasondumont). Good job, guys!

Keep the picks coming, everyone!
