NFL: The Browns announced they will release veteran receiver Odell Beckham Jr. The Browns reportedly restructured Beckham’s base salary to near the league minimum, increasing the chances he will be claimed on waivers. Also, Aaron Rodgers defended his stance of being unvaccinated on The Pat McAfee Show, revealing he has an allergy to an ingredient in the mRNA vaccines and was worried about blood clotting side effects of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine. The QB said he consulted podcast host Joe Rogan on alternative treatments.

NBA: The 76ers will resume fining Ben Simmons for not cooperating with team physicians regarding his mental health issues.

Soccer: Xavi Hernandez, who made 767 appearances for Barcelona as a player between 1998-2005, will return to the club as manager. Barca paid Al Saad $5.8 million to release Hernandez as their manager.

MLB: White Sox general manager Rick Hahn said that Tony La Russa will return as manager in 2022.
