Wimbledon: Matteo Berrettini became the first Italian in 45 years to reach the men’s final in a Grand Slam event when he defeated Hubert Hurkacz in the semifinals. Berrettini will face Novak Djokovic, who defeated Denis Shapovalov to reach his 30th Grand Slam final.

MLB: Rookie reliever Daniel Camarena belted a grand slam off the Nationals’ Max Scherzer for his first major-league hit and helped the Padres rally from an eight-run deficit to defeat Washington. Camarena became the second pitcher in MLB history whose first career hit was a grand slam. (Bill Duggleby did it first as a Phillie in 1898.)
