The Draft

Making Headlines

NBA: The Mavericks used a 28-0 first-half run to trounce the Warriors 133-103. It matched the second-largest run in the last two decades, according to the Elias Sports Bureau.

NFL: Receiver Antonio Brown will sign a one-year contract to return to the Buccaneers, according to his agent.

MLB: Vladimir Guerrero Jr. launched three home runs to propel the Blue Jays to a 9-5 victory over the Nationals. His father never hit three in a game.

NHL: The Panthers and Lightning each clinched postseason berths.

Tonight’s Action

Red Sox at Mets, 6:40 p.m. ET

Odds: Mets -275, Red Sox +220 || O/U 7

Pick: Nick Pivetta (2-0, 3.48 ERA) of the Red Sox will face the Mets’ Jacob deGrom (2-1, 0.31).

While Pivetta has pitched well, deGrom has been nearly unhittable, as usual (50 K in 4 starts). Sports Section likes deGrom to keep it rolling. But with the massive price, parlay the Mets on the moneyline with the under.

Who ya got? Reply to this newsletter with your prediction of the Red Sox-Mets winner, the final score, and how many strikeouts for deGrom. Nail it, and you get a mention in the next edition of Sports Section. Don’t forget to include your Twitter handle.

Shoutout: Yesterday, we asked subscribers to predict the winner of Bruins-Penguins, the final score, and the first goal-scorer. Boston won 3-1, with David Krejci notching the first goal.

While no one predicted Krejci to score first, subscriber Tim Maher (@glenayrfarm) did have the Bruins and was closest to the final score. Well done, Tim!

Keep the picks coming, everyone!
