Paralympics: U.S. Paralympians will now receive the same prize money as Olympians for winning medals, according to Insider. They’ll receive $37,500 for gold, $22,500 for silver, and $15,000 for bronze. The 16th Summer Paralympic Games are scheduled for Aug. 25-Sept. 5 in Tokyo.

Olympics: The U.S. softball team defeated Canada 1-0 in Group Stage play, and Brazil defeated Germany 4-2 in Group D men’s soccer.

NHL: The Coyotes acquired defenseman Shayne Gostisbehere and 2022 second- and seventh-round draft picks from the Flyers. Also: The Red Wings signed veteran goaltender Mike Smith to a two-year contract.
