NCAAF: Lincoln Riley was announced as the new head coach of USC — the first time an Oklahoma HC has left the program for another college job since 1947. Also: Oklahoma QB Spencer Rattler has entered the transfer portal. 

NFL: Panthers RB Christian McCaffrey will miss the remainder of the season due to an ankle injury. Also: Mike McCarthy will not coach the Cowboys this Thursday after testing positive for COVID-19.

MLB: OF Byron Buxton signed a seven-year, $100 million extension with the Twins, while RHP Jon Gray agreed to a four-year, $56 million deal with the Rangers. Both deals are pending physicals. 

NBA: Nuggets forward Michael Porter Jr. will undergo back surgery and miss the remainder of the season. Porter signed a rookie max extension this offseason.
