NHL: Nick Suzuki had a goal and two assists in the Canadiens’ 4-1 victory over the Golden Knights. Carey Price added 26 saves as Montreal took a 3-2 series lead. Also: Carl Gunnarsson, who helped the Blues win the 2019 Stanley Cup, retired after 12 seasons.
MLB: Mets slugger Pete Alonso announced that he will defend his Home Run Derby crown prior to the MLB All-Star Game next month in Denver.
Euro 2020: England beat the Czech Republic 1-0 to top Group D; the Czechs are still through to the next round. Croatia are the third team in the group to progress after knocking out Scotland with a 3-1 victory. In Group E, Sweden knocked out Poland with a 3-2 win courtesy of Victor Claesson’s extra-time goal, while Spain blanked Slovakia 5-0 to finish second behind the Swedes.
