The Draft

We’re not sure if this European Super League will be a thing, but the NBA, NHL, and MLB sure are entertaining us.

Making Headlines

NHL: Playing in their first game since March 24 due to COVID protocols, the Canucks topped the Maple Leafs 3-2 in overtime.

NFL: Veteran quarterback Alex Smith, the 2020 NFL Comeback Player of the Year, announced his retirement.

Soccer: Twelve founding member teams announced they would form the European Super League. Also: Tottenham fired manager Jose Mourinho.

Tonight’s Action

Brewers at Padres, 10:10 p.m. ET

Odds: Padres -157, Brewers +133 || O/U 6.5

Pick: Two righthanders off to strong starts will match up: Joe Musgrove (2-1, 0.47 ERA) for San Diego and Brandon Woodruff (0-0, 2.12 ERA) for Milwaukee.

Sports Section likes the Padres on the moneyline and the under.

Shoutout: On Friday, we asked subscribers to predict the winner of Indians-Reds and the score. Cincinnati won 10-3.

We hope you took Sports Section’s advice of the Reds on the moneyline and the over-9.

Subscriber Tim Maher (@glenayrfarm) had Cincinnati and was closest to the final score. Good job, Tim!

Keep the picks coming, everyone!
