NHL: Alex Ovechkin scored his league-leading 27th goal in the Capitals’ 4-3 overtime victory over the Jets. The 36-year-old Russian leads the NHL in scoring with 55 points.

Soccer: Lionel Messi won’t play in Argentina’s next two World Cup qualifier games as he recovers from COVID.
