NHL: The Devils hired former U.S. women’s national team captain Meghan Duggan to manage player development. Duggan helped the U.S. capture silver medals in 2010 and ’14, and gold in ’18. 

MLB: Shohei Ohtani belted his league-leading 14th home run for the Angels.

NBA: Jayson Tatum scored 50 to lead the Celtics over the Wizards and capture the seventh seed in the East. Also: The Pacers routed the Hornets to advance in the play-in tournament.
